The rollercoaster of confinement, I'm still dizzy from it! The anxiety, the gratitude, the isolation, the solidarity, the distance, the closeness, the essentialism, the deprivation... What did I miss the least? Pollution in all its forms, and shopping. What did I miss the most? Physical contact, for sure. But also certain rituals and places of pleasure. I'm happy to share some of them with you 😊
- Myosteopathy with Camille. He is a prodigy. Whatever my pain is (headache, backache, stomach ache, ankle ache and so on) he makes it disappear in less than an hour. Very gently. I leave his office beautifully aligned, soothed and light. From now on, I won't wait to be in pain to visit him.
Camille Troger, Cabinet Thera-centre, 17 rue Saint-Laurent, Geneva
- My hairdressing and beauty talks with Lou. She's a fairy. She protects you from your own bad ideas. That's magic! She understands your hair better than you do; she never cuts more than necessary; she never over-lights; she always finds a way to highlight your hair assets; she never uses you as a model to test a new idea. The result is ALWAYS natural and flawless. Who can say the same about their hairdresser?
Anha Lou, Parallèles Coiffure, 3 Grand-Rue, Geneva
- The sauna in Baths des Pâquis; followed by a swim in the lake; followed by a moment of reading and a little nap, a vegetable soup or a Greek salad. All on the lake.
Bains des Pâquis, 30 Quai du Mont-Blanc, Geneva
- The coffee stricken with Oh Martine. Believe me - I've tasted them in my life. From the beaches of Greece and the terraces of Italy, to the frappuccinos, Cloud Macchiatos and other frothy iced concoctions at Starbucks International. I even tried homemade during the lockdown. But nothing compares!
Oh Martine, 6 Route de Chêne, Geneva
- The natural wines from Bar Stool & the Tablar. I'm particularly fond of their whites, which go perfectly with the small plates of artichokes, their fresh sheep and country bread. The atmosphere is one of adult girlfriends re-enacting the world.
Stool / Tablar, 38 rue de la Coulouvrenière, Geneva
- The only hotel The "so chic" but not stuffy left bank lakeside: the Metropolis. Sound Mirror BarThe bright yet cosy interior is ideal for business meetings; its MET Rooftop offers an unparalleled view for a summer drink; the renovated rooms invite you to curl up in happiness; the staff is truly friendly, on all floors!
Hotel Métropole, 34 Quai du Général-Guisan, Geneva
Since deconfinement, I've been able to enjoy all of these pleasures again - with the exception of aperitifs at the Tabouret Bar. The upcoming rainy weekend seems to me to be conducive 😊
